A further decisive step to enhance motorway services in support of sustainable mobility, strengthening A4 Holding’s sustainability strategy—Abertis Group company managing 235 km of motorways in North-East Italy—and enabling hundreds of electric vehicles each day to recharge quickly on the highway.
This is the result of the agreement signed between A4 Holding, its subsidiary A4 Trading (active for nearly twenty years in mobility-related services along the A4 Brescia–Padova and A31 Valdastico motorways), and Fastned, a European leader in the construction of fast-charging stations for electric vehicles.
The agreement предусматривает the construction of Fastned’s first fast-charging station in Italy, equipped with 8 charging points (expandable to 16), capable of delivering up to 400 kW, allowing drivers to gain enough energy in just 15 minutes to travel up to 400 km.
The innovative drive-through station with a solar canopy, the first of its kind in Northern Italy, will be built by 2024 at the Truck Park Brescia Est in the Castenedolo area, home to the largest truck parking facility in Europe.
Along the A4 Brescia–Padova motorway there are already 13 charging stations (a quarter of which offer ultra-fast charging) across six service areas. A4 Holding’s sustainable mobility development plans include the installation of 22 additional charging points by 2024, eight of which are part of this project and will use Fastned’s technology.
This partnership is part of A4 Holding’s broader sustainability initiative for the 2022–2024 period, aimed at supporting the transition toward lower-carbon, more sustainable mobility, and promoting the development of services that support electric mobility, even for long-distance motorway travel.
