Truck Park Brescia Est hosted the Italian edition of the European Wellbeing Initiative

Truck Park Brescia Est, managed by the A4 Holding Group, confirms its commitment to road safety and truck driver wellbeing by hosting the Italian edition of ESPORG’s European Wellbeing Initiative, as part of a broader European campaign dedicated to the wellbeing of truck drivers.

The initiative, held over two days (5–6 June), represented an important opportunity for dialogue and exchange with the road transport sector on issues such as health, prevention, and quality of life for professional drivers, who play a strategic role in mobility and logistics. Institutional speeches alternated with wellbeing-focused activities, networking opportunities, and interactive sessions centered on worker safety. Osteopathy experts were also present, offering guidance on exercises and proper posture, along with the opportunity to undergo free wellbeing check-ups.

Particular attention was also given to the crucial role of secure parking areas in improving driver safety and wellbeing. Truck Park Brescia Est, which has obtained the European GOLD certification standard for secure parking, provides an ideal setting to demonstrate how safe, high-quality infrastructure can concretely enhance the working and living conditions of professional drivers.

On the morning of 5 June, during the institutional meeting titled “Drive Safe · Park Safe · Work Safe · Live Well”—a moment of discussion and sharing among various stakeholders in the road transport sector—the new campaign “Hi, I’m Gianni, let me offer you a coffee” was also presented. A4 Holding will continue promoting this campaign to raise awareness about the risks of driver drowsiness, often a cause of road accidents.

Inspired by real-life events, the campaign highlights the consequences of driving without adequate rest, emphasizing the importance of taking breaks, regaining energy, and listening to one’s body before continuing a journey. The initiative, developed by the Abertis Foundation and progressively adopted across the Group (including A4 Holding), is part of a broader international project aimed at promoting safer and more responsible mobility, in collaboration with institutional and scientific partners active in the fields of health, prevention, and road safety.

According to United Nations data, road accidents cause approximately 1.3 million deaths worldwide each year. In this context, driver drowsiness remains one of the least perceived risk factors, despite scientific studies showing that driving after fewer than five hours of sleep impairs reaction time, attention, and decision-making ability, with effects comparable to those of alcohol.

“We are honored to host, for the first time in Italy, the European Wellbeing Campaign at the Brescia Est Truck Park,” said Piergiovanni Pisani, General Manager of A4 Trading. “Thanks to its extensive secure parking facilities and comprehensive range of services, our site is much more than just a rest area: it is a place where drivers can truly rest and recharge. This event confirms our strong commitment to driver safety and wellbeing, as well as to the highest safety standards in parking facilities dedicated to heavy transport.”

The dialogue and awareness-raising activities continued on 6 June, alongside the annual Universal Truck Show, an event dedicated to the trucking world that attracts enthusiasts and professionals from across Italy.
